Email Setup Information
Email Configuration for Outlook Express
for Windows
How do I configure the Outlook Express email
program with my Surfanytime email address for Windows?
1. With Outlook Express opened, go to the Tools menu
and select Accounts option. Once the dialog box opens, click on the
Mail tab at the top, and then click the Add button to the right of it.
This will start the Internet Connection Wizard, which will take you
through the process for setting up Outlook Express.
2. In the first box, you will be asked for your
name. Enter it as you would like it to appear on outgoing mail, such
as your First and/or Last Name, and then click the Next button. From
there, you will be asked to enter your email address. For this, input
your address in the format youremailname@surfanytime.net, replacing "youremailname"
with your specific name. Click the Next button.
3. The next dialog box will prompt you for the Email
Server Names. At the top, make sure that it says My incoming mail
server is a POP3 server. For Incoming mail (POP3) server, input the
following:
mail.surfanytime.net
For Outgoing mail (SMTP) server, input the
following:
smtp.surfanytime.net
Click the Next button.
4. The next dialog box will prompt you for your
Internet Mail Logon. Make sure that Log on using: is selected and
enter your username in the POP account name as
yourname@surfanytime.net.
Enter your password in the Password: field. Please make sure these are
input exactly as they were indicated in your Surfanytime confirmation
letter, due to case-sensitivity. Click the Next button.
5. You will then be asked for a Friendly Name, which
would be the name for the mailbox you just created in Outlook Express'
list of accounts. Input the word Surfanytime here, or whatever else
you would prefer. Click the Next button.
6. The next dialog box will ask how you're connected
to the Internet. Please select Connect using my phone line. Click the
Next button.
7. In the next dialog box, click the Finish button.
You should now see your entry in the list of accounts. Click the Close
button.
